FCCE Partners With Axle AI to Revive Past Content

The agreement between a top European media player and the AI company demonstrates how past and archival content can be reused to create new materials.

FCCE, a top European figure in lifestyle and celebrity media, is entering a strategic partnership with Axle AI, a leader in AI-driven media management software, just as the MIPCOM conference in Cannes draws near. This collaboration aims to make historic media content more accessible while considerably reducing the time needed to turn over new content to clients across the world.

Based in Amsterdam, FCCE has spent 35 years capturing a wide range of events, such as important film festivals, fashion weeks, music experiences, and food and celebrity lifestyle festivals. With over 15,000 hours of celebrity-focused entertainment in its vault, FCCE’s partnership with Axle AI opens new ways to leverage this extensive collection. Axle AI’s technology will not only enable previously unaired content and interviews to come to light but will also accelerate the production and distribution of new material to meet the fast-paced needs of global broadcasters and digital platforms.

Justus Verkerk, CEO of FCCE, explained the significance of the partnership, pointing to the company’s history of tackling large-scale content challenges. Verkerk emphasized that the cooperation guarantees the company’s goal of staying up-to-date with the culture, technology and services globally.

Axle AI’s software offers a range of innovative features, including semantic search, scene recognition, face detection, speech transcription, and logo recognition. This suite of tools makes it easier to catalog large amounts of video, transforming them into searchable, ready-to-use assets for social media and other digital channels. The technology, already a topic of buzz at the recent IBC conference in Amsterdam, is customized to meet FCCE’s bespoke requests.

Sam Bogoch, CEO of Axle AI, highlighted the complexity of FCCE’s media library, saying that FCCE has been a considerable project due to possessing more than 15,000 faces to recognize across 35 years of material. Working with FCCE allowed them to develop solutions that highlight the strengths of both companies.

FCCE and Axle AI will showcase the capabilities of their partnership at MIPCOM, held in Cannes from October 21 to 24. The event provides an opportunity for the companies to speak with clients and demonstrate how the new technology uncovers hidden gems within FCCE’s extensive archive while enhancing the speed and quality of content delivery.
